Youth attends Japan labour programme

GUWAHATI, July 8 - The Japan International Labour Foundation (JILAF), formed in May 1989 to promote international exchange and cooperation in the field of labour, recently organised a programme for the Asia Youth Team FY 2016 at Tokyo, Japan, in which an Assamese youth named Naba Kumar Gogoi, who is the president of the Assam unit of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, was invited, stated a press release.

Gogoi, who is an employee of Oil India Limited at Duliajan is the first Assamese youth from this sector to attend such a programme. Among representatives of six countries from various central trade unions and organisations, Gogoi was nominated as the team leader. The six participating countries were India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines and Vietnam, the release added.
