AIZAWL, June 16 Preserving the people and lands of the Mizos does not mean to hurt other people, said Mizoram Home Minister R Lalzirliana today.

Speaking at the celebration of Young Mizo Association (YMA) Day in Mizoram, R Lalzirliana said communal feelings destroy the Mizo integrity and added that the State Government always wants the people living together in harmony.

And if there is any section of the people who has problem on any issue, the government is always ready to hold negotiation, the Mizoram Home Minister said.

Lalzirliana lauded the YMA for helping the poor, widows and the needy by constructing houses for them. He, however, asked the YMA members to continue their work in fighting against intoxicants and their works of bettering the society.

On Friday, the 77th Young Mizo Association (YMA) Day was observed across Mizoram with great enthusiasm and varied cultural programmes. Some organised social works in commemoration of the day while in some places the occasion was celebrated by organising competitions in various disciplines.
