Workers, traders register for Meghalaya CM�s Relief Fund

SHILLONG April 9 - Close to one lakh daily wage earners, workers and petty traders have registered for financial assistance under the Chief Minister�s Relief Fund in Meghalaya.

Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, who is also in charge of the Labour Department, said the total number of such beneficiaries could touch 1,10,000 as some Block Development Officers are yet to submit the list of beneficiaries.

Tynsong said these beneficiaries would receive Rs 700 per week and the financial assistance will be transferred directly to their accounts from the Chief Minister�s Relief Fund.
