Witch-hunting claims one at Biswanath

BISWANATH CHARIALI, June 10 - In yet another case of witch-hunting, one Khelan Chengnar (65) was stabbed to death by a section of villagers at No. 1 Kherbari village along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border under Biswanath Chariali Police Station in Biswanath district on Saturday.

According to information available, the villagers had accused Khelan Chengnar of practicing black magic after being prodded by village priest Samir Teron.

Meanwhile, Chengnar�s relatives managed to escape unhurt. Police apprehended Samir and nine others.
