West Garo Hills admin discusses COVID situation

TURA, Sept 13 - The West Garo Hills District COVID Committee discussed various issues at a meeting held here yesterday. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, senior citizens and magistrates and health officials.

Speaking during the meeting, Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Ram Singh informed that the district administration is taking all necessary precautions to check the spread of COVID-19 in the district and at present, with the detection of the virus in many localities, aggressive testing is being done in high risk market places.

Further, considering the uneven topography in some areas of the district where ambulance is hard to reach areas, he informed that random sampling and Rapid Antigen Test would have to be intensified in the coming days so as to check the spread of the virus. He also urged the members to be more vigilant and check those people coming from Assam and ensure that they are tested before entering the district and also to motivate people to come forward for random testing which is being done in the localities and to follow COVID protocol strictly.
