GUWAHATI, April 26 � The Assam Weightlifting Association has set up its 25-member new body in its annual general meeting held here today.
Birendra Prasad Baishya became the president while Bhabajyoti Goswami has been nominated as the working president. Basanta Das became the general secretary of the new committee. The body was constituted as per the guideline of the Sports Ministry and Indian Weightlifting Federation. The meeting also allotted the 43rd Assam State Weightlifting Championship to Sivasagar District Weightlifting Association.
