Wearing of masks made compulsory in East Garo Hills

WILLIAMNAGAR, April 17 - Wearing of masks at public places has been made compulsory in East Garo Hills district. An order to this effect was issued on Thursday by the East Garo Hills District Magistrate, Swapnil Tembe, under Section 144 of the CrPC.

All persons in charge of workplaces, public places and transport have been made responsible to ensure social distancing.

The order also prohibits assembly of five or more persons at public places and spitting at public places. It said that funerals would be regulated by the magistrates on duty. The order will remain in force till May 3 next.
