GUWAHATI, Sept 18 � Viswakarma Puja, the ritual of worshipping the Hindu deity of engineering and architecture, was celebrated all over the State with great fervour on Monday. Viswakarma idols were worshipped in pandals as well as factories and garages by the faithful, seeking the blessings of the God.
The Puja that has marked the beginning of the festive season ahead, was also celebrated in Guwahati with great enthusiasm. Big and small pandals, where the rituals were performed, were decorated and illuminated. People also washed and decorated their vehicles with flowers and made offerings to Lord Viswakarma. The city wore a festive look with illuminated buildings and decorated vehicles on streets.
In the Assam Tribune Group office premises also, Viswakarma Puja was performed with great pomp and gaiety. Like every year, Viswakarma idol was brought in the pandal and the puja was performed in a traditional way, which was followed by presentation of nagara-naam.
