Veteran cardiologist recovers from COVID-19, allays fear

SILCHAR, Aug 12: Veteran cardiologist of the state and a popular physician across Barak Valley Dr PC Sarma and his family have successfully defeated the COVID-19 virus.

Dr Sarma was affected by the novel coronavirus with mild fever, cold and cough on July 22 and rushed to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) and subsequently the family went in for home isolation till August 2 abiding by the Government norms.

Sharing his experiences having overcome the disease , Dr Sarma told The Assam Tribune "COVID-19 is not an ailment to be frightened about. Moreover, the option for home isolation comes as a great relief for people with mild infection. However, the safety norms, wearing of facecovers and use of hand sanitizers must be maintained to keep the disease at bay. On August 4, we underwent a test and the results turned out to be negative."
