Unknown cattle disease breaks out in Manipur

IMPHAL, June 22 - Outbreak of an unknown disease has reportedly claimed some cattleheads in Tamei area of Tamenglong district in Manipur in the past one month or so. Villagers said over phone that cows and buffaloes have been affected with the disease which is yet to be diagnosed.

Sources said that at Nchiang (Langmei) village which is located some 5 km south-west of Tamei, the disease has claimed some cattleheads. The cattle usually find it hard to move around or eat as the disease affects the hooves and mouth, the sources said.
