GUWAHATI, Jan 14 - The banned ULFA (Independence) has opposed the construction of the war memorial on the north bank of Dighalipukhuri.
In a press release, the ULFA (I) stated that it supports the protest by a section of citizens against the construction. �We have respect for those who laid down their lives for the country, but we cannot allow desecration of the historic water body and the natural environment,� the ULFA (I) added.
