Two held for robbery

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Sept 7 - Lakhimpur Police on Friday arrested two persons in connection with the robbery that took place on Thursday.

The arrested persons have been identified as Rakesk Pegu and Meraj Ali. Cash worth Rs 3 lakhs, gold ornaments, two motorcycles used in the crime, house-breaking instuments, ten mobile phones and sharp weapons were recovered from them.

It may be recalled that in a sensational robbery one Arun Dutta was severely injured in North Lakhimpur. The incident took place in Chinataliya, a residential area in North Lakhimpur in the early hours of Thursday when robbers broke into a residence and took away cash worth Rs 9 lakh along with jewellery. Arun Dutta was subsequently hospitalised.
