Tripura to hand over 20 govt schools to ISKCON

AGARTALA, June 23 - The Tripura Government has decided to hand over 20 State-run schools, including 13 closed institutions, to the ISKCON to run them, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said on Friday.

The 13 schools are closed as they do not have any students. In 147 other government schools, there are a maximum of only 10 students, he said.

�The Council of Ministers in its meeting held on Thursday decided to hand over 20 schools including the closed 13 schools and seven out of 147 schools, which have maximum 10 students, to the authorities of the ISKCON, which agreed to provide quality education in those schools,� Nath told reporters. � PTI
