Tripartite talks on Assam Accord

GUWAHATI, April 11 ��The next round of tripartite talks involving the Centre, the State Government and the All Assam Students� Union will be held in New Delhi on April 22.

Revealing this, the AASU said in a statement that the key issues relating to implementation of the Assam Accord such as updating of the NRC, sealing of the Indo-Bangla border, constitutional safeguards for the indigenous people, identification and deportation of foreign nationals and declaring flood and erosion as national problems and initiation of measures to solve them will be discussed.

The AASU had earlier impressed upon Union Home Secretary GK Pillai during his last visit to Assam to implement the Assam Accord in its letter and spirit.
