Tributes paid to Prafulla Ch Bora

DERGAON, April 12 � Rich tributes were paid to the noted litterateur Prafulla Ch Bora who died on April 1 at his Dergaon residence on the occasion of his adyashradha on Saturday.

In a meeting held at his residence in the afternoon a commemorative book Jonak published under the aegis of Dergaon Sahitya Sabha was released. The book with as many as forty seven articles and edited by Aswini Barthakur and Padmalochan Nath was released by Prabhat Ch Mahanta, retired vice-principal of DKD College Dergaon.

Releasing the book Mahanta opined that late Prafulla Ch Bora was a man of virtue with kind and simple mind. He was a man of good words. The programme moderated by Nurul Sultan and Bichitra Bhusan Kalita was also addressed by retired DIG Prabin Ch Saikia, noted social worker Atul Goswami, noted writer Dr Karabi Deka Hazarika, Niru Barua, Nityanada Bordoloi, classmate of the litterateur Nagen Saikia among others.

A citation prepared by the AJYCP Dergaon unit was also read out in the programme. Earlier, an all party prayer meet was held at Dergaon Sahitya Sabha. On the other hand a meeting was also organised by Dergaon unit of Karunadhara and released a commemorative page in the memory of their founder president.
