GUWAHATI, June 7 - Sadichsa, a socio-cultural organisation organised a tree plantation drive and drawing competition at Rukminigaon High School on Wednesday, according to a press release issued here today.
The dignitaries present on the occasion included �Tree Man� of Assam Bakul Gogoi and his associate GS Kalita. Gogoi inaugurated the programme by planting a white sandalwood sapling on the school premises.
Headmaster of the school Dinabandhu Kalita, teachers, students and members of Sadichsa were present during the event.
In his speech �Tree Man� Gogoi gave valuable suggestions regarding tree plantation. Tree plantation is very important for the community and Sadichsa�s initiative would go a long way in inculcating this habit among the students, he further said.
