GUWAHATI, July 25 - The State government today suspended one Tabzul Hussain, treasury officer of the New Guwahati treasury on charges of allegedly sharing his official user ID and password with an unauthorised person for approving bills and cheques.
The irregularities came to light after an internal enquiry. The suspension order further stated that Tabzul Hussain did not monitor the status of payment regularly in the system which had attributed to non-payment of bills submitted by the social welfare department in respect of Deen Dayal Divyangjan Pension Scheme for the year 2018-19.
It is noteworthy that recently the Pratibandhi Suraksha Sangstha, Assam had carried out a sit-in-demonstration on the premises of the New Guwahati treasury over non-payment of pension under the Deen Dayal Divyangjan Pension Scheme. The protest prompted the government to carry out the probe.
