Thousands witness idol immersion

GOSSAIGAON, Oct 8 - Idols of Durga and her consorts were immersed in the Modati river after the end of the Durga Puja festivities. Police kept a strict vigil. A plastic-free, clean and gambling-free environment were the main themes of the pandals this year.

Kamal Nath Club, Tiniali Maharajpur, Barowari Nat Mandir (established in 1931) and Gossaibaba Dham Durga Puja attracted the maximum people. But cloth merchants this time expressed unhappiness over slack business.
