Swachhata Hi Sewa prog gets under way in Baksa

GORESWAR, Sept 25 - The fortnight-long Swachhata Hi Sewa programme got under way in Baksa district recently. As a part of the programme, an awareness meet was held on Durga Mandir premises on Sunday.

State PHE Minister Rihon Daimary took part in the meet as the chief guest. Nitin Khare, secretary to the Government of Assam; Emanual Mushahary, MLA; Maneswar Boro, MLA; Deben Boro, EM of BTC; Mrinal Sahariya, executive engineer (PHE); BM Roy, SDO (PHE); were also present in the programme as guests of honour.

Addressing the gathering, Daimary urged the government officials to keep a clean environment in their respective offices in Baksa district.

Later in the afternoon, the Deputy Commissioner of Baksa district Sanjib Kumar Gogoi had a detailed discussion with the officials and gave them guidelines on how to make the programme a grand success.
