GUWAHATI, Oct 3 - Criticising the Supreme Court judgement decriminalising adultery, senior journalist DN Chakravartty today said the verdict was tantamount to giving legality to extramarital relationships and that it was extremely injurious to the moral foundation of a civilised society.
Chakravartty said that while the courts were crowded with thousands of cases relating to such abuses, the judgement by the Supreme Court would definitely open the floodgates of sexual crimes and sexual aberrations in society.
He appealed to the �apex court in particular and saner sections of the people in general to ensure that such erroneous judgements could not be allowed create havoc in the moral fabric of society�.
