Strict population control law demanded

GUWAHATI, Dec 6 - The Jansankhya Samadhan Foundation (JSF) Northeast Chapter has sent a memorandum to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding enactment of a strict population control law in the nation and a plan to check the illegal entry of Rohingya people from Myanmar into the north-eastern States including Assam.

Even after continuous illegal entry of Bangladeshi immigration, it is a matter of serious concern that the porous Indo-Bangla border is yet to be completely sealed, JSF stated in the memorandum.

Illegal immigration is on the rise at the instance of some middlemen and religious leaders of a particular community who keep on motivating and inciting for grabbing political rights. This has threatened the very existence of the indigenous people, the memorandum added.
