GUWAHATI, March 28 � The thunderstorm that lashed the city this evening caused damage to many installations of the Assam State Electricity Board. This has resulted in power failure in many parts of the city since early evening today till the filing of this report around 9 pm.
The thunderstorm the city experienced yesterday, was also responsible for some damage to the electrical installations in the city, said ASEB sources.
Yesterday�s damage resulted in power failure in many parts of east Guwahati. Particularly, the greater Rajgarh area is still plunged in darkness since last evening, said the local residents.
However, ASEB sources claimed that efforts to restore the power supply network were going on and some of the affected areas might get their power supply restored tonight itself.
