Stoma Clinic at BBCI likely

GUWAHATI, March 2 - The Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI) is planning to start a Stoma Clinic in collaboration with the Ostomy Association of India (OAI), a not-for-profit voluntary organisation affiliated to the Indian Cancer Society.

Founded in 1975 in Mumbai, OAI is a self-help group of people who have all undergone diversional surgery of the intestinal or urinary tract, and have an artificial opening called Stoma. OAI provides free training on the care of colostomy, ureterostomy, etc., and also helps in procuring proper appliances at subsidised cost.
