SILCHAR, Oct 11: Three shops were gutted and at least 12 were badly affected in a midnight fire in Fatak Bazar area in Silchar.
According to police, the fire broke out in the market complex behind Silchar Sadar Police Station and swept three shops including a stationery shop opposite Kali Bari here.
Several fire engines were rushed to the spot and SDRF and Fire and Emergency services men were seen battling the fire till Friday morning.
However, there were no reports of any casualty.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
