JORABAT, April 16 - A shop and a house along NH 6 near Jorabat was completely gutted in a blaze this evening. Property worth about Rs 2 lakh was lost in the fire.
Fire fighters from Sonapur, Assam and Byrnihat, Meghalaya reached the spot and took control of the situation.
According to the police, the owner of the shop and the house was out of station. Police suspect the incident might have happened due to short-circuit.
