Shahil bags 13th position in Brazil meet

GUWAHATI, Sept 5 - Shahil Dey who represented India in the U-10 category in World Cadet Chess Championship held at Brazil from August 22 got the 13th position in final ranking with 6 wins and 2 draws. He started the tournament against the 16th seeded player based on his international rating. Shahil got 7 points out of total 11 rounds. Shahil lost his final round match on the final day and missed the 3rd position. Till the 8th round he was occupying the 3rd place with four other players from USA, Russia and Uzbekistan.

Shahil will next represent Assam in the National U-11 Chess Tournament to be held at Maharashtra from November 22 to 30.
