GUWAHATI, Aug 4 - A three-member delegation of Save Guwahati Build Guwahati (SGBG) met Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday to discuss several issues related to the development of Guwahati city. The delegation opposed the installation of any statue in front of the Nabin Bordoloi Hall.

In a statement, the SGBG said that a water fountain was set up by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation in front of the hall for beautification purpose in 1968.

The organisation planning to set up a statue in front of the Nabin Bordoloi Hall can install it at the Church Field. A mutual understanding on this issue will resolve the matter amicably without hurting the sentiments of the people of Guwahati, said the statement.

From the SGBG, its vice president, Ajoy Dutta, and general secretaries, Rabin Dutta and Kailash Sarma, took part in the discussion.
