Sex racket busted, 2 women among 4 held

GUWAHATI, April 27 - Chandmari police busted a sex racket and arrested four persons, including two women, on Friday night.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Chandmari) Putul Chandra Baishya said police made the arrest based on a complaint filed by the public from Rajgarh area.

Police arrested Dilip Kumar Sahu, Rakesh Kumar Swain and two women in connection with the case.

The ACP said Sahu and his wife � both of whom stay in Rajgarh area and hail from Odisha � ran the sex racket for many days. The racket recently caught the attention of some conscious residents of the area.

On Friday night, based on a public complaint, police first arrested Swain who allegedly worked as an agent in the sex racket and a girl from Noonmati area. Based on their statements, police later arrested Sahu and his wife.

A court on Saturday sent the two women to judicial custody, while the two men were remanded in police custody for further investigation.
