GUWAHATI, May 21 � The Assam team for the Sub-Junior National Sepak Takraw Championship, to be held at Kanyakumari from May 23 to 26, left yesterday.
Informing this, State sepak takraw body secretary Bishnu Ram Nunisa stated in a release the team consists of 11 players and two officials:
The teams: (Boys) O Amarjit Singh, M Babul Singh, Salit Singh, Kripasandhu Sharma, Prantu Singh. (Girls) A Priya Devi, O Chanchan Devi, M Sumitra Devi, Th Premita Devi, H Sangita Devi. Officials: NG Ibomcha Singh, M Surjit Singh.
Nunisa further informed that Assam player L Thoinu Chanu, as a member of the Indian team, won the silver medal in the Kings World Cup Sepak Takraw Championship held in Thailand from May 4 to 10.
