Senior Tribune scribe B Lahkar accorded farewell

GUWAHATI, July 31 - Employees of the Assam Tribune group today accorded a warm farewell to Assistant Editor of The Assam Tribune Bedabrata Lahkar at a function organized at the newspaper�s office.

Lahkar, who joined The Assam Tribune in 1981, retired today.

The meeting was chaired by The Assam Tribune Executive Editor Prasanta Jyoti Baruah.

Speaking on the occasion, Lahkar recalled his decades-long association with the newspaper and expressed his gratitude to the Management and his colleagues.

Several employees of the Tribune group reminisced their association with Lahkar and mentioned his positive attributes.

Lahkar was associated with the newspaper in different capacities, including a stint as its Shillong Correspondent. He was one of the handful of reporters who witnessed and covered the 1983 Nellie massacre.
