Sanskrit Divas observed

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Sept 3 - Sanskrit Divas was observed in Chatiya College in Biswanath district under the aegis of Department of Sanskrit of the college recently.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the earthen lamp by Malabika Bhuyan. The programme was addressed by a number of Sanskrit scholars including Bhaben Saikia, Loknath Sashtri, Hiteswar Das, Hemanta Borah, Narayan Khatiyara, Debendra Dev Sharma, Dr Dwipen Bharali and Mukti Parajuli, among others. In their speeches, the speakers highlighted the significance and importance of the language in today�s context. All major languages of India owe their origin to Sanskrit. It is a very simple language and there is no any valid reason for people to avoid it. Sanskrit has been flowing in the bloods of the people of our country, they added. The day was also observed in Dakshin Nagsankar High School with various programmes.
