ITANAGAR, June 28 - In view of the incessant monsoon rainfall as well as the rising trend of the Siang river and its tributaries, the East Siang district administration has issued a safety advisory, cautioning the public, particularly those living along low-lying areas, to refrain from fishing, swimming and other related activities, to avoid any untoward incidents.

District Magistrate Dr Kinny Singh said that people living along the low-lying right bank and left bank which include areas like Jarku, Paglek, SS Mission, Jarkong, Banskota, Berung, Sigar, Borguli, Seram, Kongkul, Namsing and Mer in the Siang river have been advised to remain alert.

However, there is immediate cause of panic as the Siang river is still flowing below the danger level.
