Sabha to take all groups along: Dr Bora

Ratnapal kShetra (Kawoimari), Dec 27 - The Asam Sahitya Sabha, which has stepped into the 99th year of its existence, celebrated its pre-centenary year at the Ratnapal Kshetra here since Saturday.

Marking the celebrations, around 10 thousand literature lovers today sang the Sabha�s theme song Siro senehi mur bhasha jananee under the Sabha flag here this morning.

Earlier, 99 Sabha flags were unfurled by 99 renowned personalities, including leaders of various national bodies, literary organisations, tribal literary bodies, artistes and litterateurs, at 8.45 am and sang the State anthem, O mur apunar desh.

After unfurling the main flag at 9 am, Sabha president Dr Dhrubajyoti Bora then led a colourful procession from 11 am along with dignitaries and cultural troupes.

Addressing the open session at 1 pm, Dr Bora said the Sabha will take every indigenous community along and march ahead with the concept of tri-language and theoretical premises. It will accord equal priority to all indigenous languages, he asserted.
