Rs 2 lakh for Uddhab Bharali�s research lab

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, March 2 - The State government has announced a grant of Rs 2 lakh for the development of a research laboratory for internationally-famed innovator Uddhab Bharali. This was announced by the government during the celebration of Science Day on Tuesday at Guwahati. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal presented a cheque of Rs 2 lakh to Bharali at the function along with State minister for science and technology Keshab Mahanta. As this year�s theme of Science Day was �Science and technology for especially-abled persons�, the financial grant to Uddhab Bharali deserves special mention. Among other things innovator Uddhab Bharali has developed a number of devices and aides for the daily use of differently and especially abled persons over the years from multi-purpose wheelchairs to artificial arms.
