GUWAHATI, Sept 23 - Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel of Northeast Frontier Railway (RPF) have recovered various items like cannabis, foreign cigarettes and whisky worth about Rs 7.42 lakh during the period from September 2 to September 22.
�The contraband was recovered during regular checks and special drives at various stations and trains over the NF Railway zone. The RPF personnel successfully apprehended one person involved in trafficking contraband liquor at the Katihar railway station on September 16. During the same period, RPF personnel have apprehended four persons on charges of theft of passengers� belongings and recovered 12 mobile phones from their possession from Kamakhya and Katihar railway stations. RPF has also recovered sedative drugs containing 16 Ativan tablets in one strip, 20 loose tablets and powder of sedative tablets in a small polythene bundle from one of the apprehended persons from the Kamakhya Railway station,� said Subhanan Chanda, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of NF Railway.
