NEW DELHI, June 21 - Congress Rajya Sabha MP Ripun Bora on Friday has sought the intervention of Union Minister of Road Transport and Highway Nitin Gadkari in maintenance of National Highway 15 and NH 37.

The NH 37, which starts from Guwahati and is considered the gateway to the Northeast, has not been maintained since 2014 and the surface top in places have worn off. This is one of the most important National Highways of the Northeast, which is also used by foreign tourist to reach Kaziranga National Park, said the MP drawing the attention of Gadkari.

In his letter to the Union Minister, Bora claimed that NH 15, which covers five districts of the State, has not been properly maintained since five years. Currently, a 240-km section between Baihata Charilai and Gohpur is in a deplorable state, stated Bora.
