RIMS to introduce DM course in Nephrology

IMPHAL, July 29 - The introduction of Doctorate of Medicine (DM) course in Nephrology in Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), a premier medical institute in Manipur, has been approved from this academic session. Disclosing it to this reporter here, RIMS Director Dr A Santa Singh said, �Now, our institute will be in the map of India where brightest young doctors can pursue DM course in Nephrology.�

�The institute will be in a position to provide advanced healthcare facilities in the government sector in the next five years,� he also said.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has recently given the approval to start DM (super speciality) course in Nephrology.

Since its establishment, the 47 year-old institute has produced more than 3,356 doctors, 1,714 post graduates, 56 clinical psychologists and 153 nurses, as per annual report of 2017-18.

Stating that this is good news for Manipur and NE States, the Director said, �This will tremendously benefit all patients suffering from kidney diseases.�
