Renovated women�s market re-opened in Imphal

IMPHAL, Jan 23 - The newly-renovated women�s market buildings here, which were badly damaged in the powerful earthquake in 2016, were re-opened during a simple function on Monday.

The function was attended by Municipal Administration, Housing and Urban Development (MAHUD) Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar. He told reporters that the basement spaces of the three women market buildings will be used as parking lots.

The market buildings were renovated at a cost of Rs 21.98 crore. Nearly 2,000 women vendors are accommodated in the buildings.
