Ravikant wins chess title

GUWAHATI, June 28 � Sixth seed Ravikant Tiwari emerged champion in the Rajat Chandra Sarma Smritishastri and Kamini Priya Devi Memorial Guwahati Open Chess Championship, organised by the Guwahati Chess Association.

Ravikant clinched the title with a clinical performnace by winning all the 7 rounds in the meet which came to an end today at the Gauhati Town Club.

Chiraranjan Bhuyun, Pranab Kumar Nath, Bipin Singh and Biswajit Bharadwaj secured second to fifth positions respectively.

The prize distribution ceremony was presided by Arun Singh, secretary, Guwahati Chess Association. Altogether 41 players took part in the meet.
