Protest by CPI(M)

GUWAHATI, June 22 - The Communist Party of India (M) today staged a statewide protest demanding of the government to provide Rs 7,500 to every family that does not pay income tax, for the next six months.

In Guwahati, the CPI(M) staged the protest at Jalukbari Satmile area and Guwahati Club.

Holding banners, they demanded provision of essential commodities and other items to the people living in containment zones.

They also sought an increase in the number of days of employment under MGNREGA scheme to 200 days.
