GUWAHATI, June 6 - Police are investigating the incident of fire at Simon House in Paltan Bazar area in which Kanak Choudhury, a well-known businessman died last night.
The incident gave rise to suspicion of foul play as the grill of the room where the deceased was sleeping was found to be locked from outside. Police said they could not yet ascertain whether the fire was caused by short circuit or by other extraneous factors, and that samples from the site were being sent for forensic tests. The caretaker of the house is said to be absconding.
