Police dig out woman�s body

BONGAIGAON, Oct 13 - Police dug out the body of a woman today at Dewangaon in Boitamari area under Bongaigaon Police station after arresting the victim�s husband last night (Friday).

According to police, Sambaru Sutradhar (39), a wage earner and a resident of Sutradharpara in Dewangaon area, had assaulted his wife Binita (35), a mother of two , after finding her in a compromising position with a person of the locality on October 3 night after he returned home.

When she got seriously injured in the assault, Sambaru took her to Bongaigaon Civil hospital, but noticing Binita�s health condition, doctors at the hospital referred her to Barpeta Medical College and Hospital.

Due to financial crisis, Sambaru brought Binita back to his home and kept her at rest. Getting no proper treatment, she died on Friday noon.

By that time Binita�s parents came to know about her death and accusing Sambaru of killing their daughter, they filed a report at Bongaigaon Police station on Friday evening.

Accordingly, police reached Dewangaon on Friday night and arrested Sambaru when he had returned home after burying Binita�s body at the nearby crematorium secretly.

Police today exhumed the body of the victim and sent it for post mortem to Bongaigaon civil hospital. �A case has been registered against Sambaru and investigation is on�, Officer in Charge of Bongaigaon Police Station, Bijit Dadhora said.
