GUWAHATI, May 28 - Phani Bhusan Choudhury took oath as the pro-tem Speaker of the 14th Assam Legislative Assembly today. Governor PB Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Choudhury at a function held at the Durbar Hall in Raj Bhawan.
The Governor administered the oath of office and secrecy to Choudhury under Article 180 of the Constitution.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, Chief Secretary VK Pipersenia and other dignitaries were present at the function.
