Pare power project ready for commissioning: NEEPCO

ITANAGAR, Nov 2 - While the 110-MW Pare Hydro Electric Project (HEP) is ready for commissioning, the 600-MW Kameng HEP will be made operational by March next year. This assurance was given by NEEPCO officials when they called on Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu at his office here today.

A release from the Chief Minister�s Office said here that the Chief Minister today held a meeting with NEEPCO officials to discuss the commissioning of the Pare and Kameng projects.

In the meeting, also attended by officials from the Indian Army, BRO and top State Government officials, the Chief Minister sought to know the issues related to the status of these power projects and offered to render all possible help for their early commissioning.

While informing that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been enquiring about these two projects, the Chief Minister urged the NEEPCO officials to complete the projects on assured timeline without shifting the target dates.

The Chief Minister also discussed with the officials the issue of the 56-km Pinjuli-Khupi road that leads to the Kameng project and is maintained by the NEEPCO. He said the road is of national importance and discussed the scope for improvement of the condition of the road.
