Pakey-Paga Fest begins

TEZPUR, Jan 16 - The three-day Pakey-Paga Festival 2017 organised by Arunachal Department of Environment and Forest began in Seijusa today.

Seijusa is a picturesque town in Kameng district touching Sonitpur in Assam. Inaugurating the festival, Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said that insurgency in the region would no longer be tolerated. �But the door is open to all, one who wish to come back to the mainstream,� he said.

Festival Director, Tamo Dada told this reporter that the Festival celebrated in Pakey Wild life Sanctuary and Pakey Tiger Reserve aims to create awareness on conservation of wildlife. Pakey Sanctuary is famed for four species of Hornbills � Great Indian Hornbill, Wreathed Hornbill, Oriental Pied Hornbill and Rufous-necked Hornbill.
