Open session of Sankardev Sangha held

TINSUKIA, Feb 8 � The open session of the 83rd conference of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha, being held at the Sri Sri Aniruddhadev Samannay Kshetra, Makum since Thursday, was organised today simultaneously with Bhagwat Yatra and a cultural procession. The event was presided over by the Padadhikar of the Sangha, Rajani Sangha and was inaugurated by Karuna Kanta Kalita, chief adviser to the Sangha.

Union DoNER Minister Paban Singh Ghatowar, Parliamentary Secretaries RP Singh and Raju Sahoo, child speaker Bristi Dutta, youth speaker Krishna Kt Khatoniar, mother speaker Moromi Khanikar, former publicity secretary of the Sangha Jagat Bania and others addressed the gathering.

The Padadhikar, in his speech, said that the Sangha was committed to globalising the creations, works and messages of Srimanta Sankardev and with the cooperation of the people, it has been so far successful in its mission, although there is still a long way to go to achieve its goal.

He also informed the gathering that the classes of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev University would start from the 2014 academic year.
