SIVASAGAR, Sept 15 - One Nituporna Duwora (23) was allegedly stabbed to death by a co-worker Bitu Gowala (18), following a heated altercation in a scrap iron factory at Hanhchora , near here last night. Hanhchora Police has taken Bitu Gowala into custody. People of the locality blocked the Nazira-Sivasagar road for traffic for several hours this morning demanding compensation to the family of the slain till the district administration persuaded them to move away.
Meanwhile, Tapan Mech (52), a resident of Haripora was mowed down by a speeding vehicle at the same place at Hanhchora on Friday night. The vehicle has not been traced as yet.
