GUWAHATI, Dec 23 � City Police claimed to have nabbed the murderer of Rubi Barua after it arrested one Suleman Ali from Nalbari district today. Rubi was killed yesterday in her house in city�s, Narengi area.
Police said that Suleman, who worked as a painter at Baruah�s place recently was a frequent visitor and was quite acquainted with the routine of the family. Suleman attacked Rubi after she refused to give him, the money he demanded.
�Suleman then attacked her with a sharp knife and even chopped off her ring finger. He took away the golden ring and her cell phone,� Senior Superintendent of Police (City) Pradeep Chandra Saloi told The Assam Tribune. Suleman will be produced in the court tomorrow.
