Oil India FC clinch Bodousa Cup

TINSUKIA, Aug 9 - Oil India FC emerged champions in the coveted Bodousa Invitational Prize Money Football Tournament.

In the close title clash at the Katchujan Field here today, the Duliajan team edged past NEROCA Football Club, Manipur 2-1. Minto Boro put Oil ahead in the very third minute. After that the momentum of the match enhanced to a remarkable height. Ronald Singh of Manipur restored parity in the 45th minutes. But it was Raju Konwar who fired the match winner in the 77th minute.

Earlier, the souvenir �Bodousa� published to commemorate the occasion was released by Jayanta Borgohain, Executive Director, OIL. The players have were introduced to the guests namely VK Verma, Executive Director, Coal India Ltd. Pranjit Deka, General Manager, Oil India Ltd., Ranjit Dutta, General Manager, Coal India Ltd. PK Gogoi, Addl Deputy Commissioner, Tinsukia. The champion team received Rs 1 lakh while the runners up team became richer by Rs 50,000.

Individual prize winners were- (best player) Nabin Rabha of OIL, (highest scorer) Hemanta Garh of Makum United and (best goalkeeper) Roshan Singh of NEROCA, Manipur, all got cash award of Rs 3,000 each. The best player of the final went to Minto Boro of Oil FC. He was awarded an amount of Rs 2 ,000.
