GUWAHATI, Sept 21 - The OIL-AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament for boys and girls U-14 and 16 years will begin here on September 23.
The boys qualifying round matches will be held on Sunday and there will be no qualifying round matches for girls. Most of the top ranking players have confirmed their participation in the tournament. In the boys U-14 Latha Nallusamy Nithis Baalaji of Tamil Nadu is the top seed while in the girls U-14 Shimreen Ahamed of West Bengal got the top seed. In the boys and girls 16 years singles events Bhusan Haobam of Manipur and Shimreen Ahamed of West Bengal are the top seeds respectively.
This prestigious tournament of the country has been sponsored by Oil India Limited and will be organised by the All Assam Tennis Association. The All India Tennis Association has appointed Saikat Roy of West Bengal as the chief referee while AATA secretary Ankush Dutta will be the tournament director, stated a release.
